Teaching

All Interacting Evovling Systems Science (AIESS) has been the foundation to all my learning and teachng. The various course that I teach or train are based on a combination of the following five areas, viz.,

Systems Science, Systems Research, Systems Dynamics, Systems Design, and Systems Strategy

Research

For the last over thiry years, since 1991, my research and practice has gradually evolved to study the ontology and epistemology of change (whether regeneration or degeneration) in Nature and our Reality.. The overall approach of my research has been ecosystemic and transdisciplinary.  Although I enjoy using and teaching different research methodologies to understand reality, Transdisciplinary Action Research (TAR) has evolved to be the main research methodology in my diagnosing complex problems and synthesizing systemic and regenerative solutions. I work on a special aspect of systems science, viz., "All Interacting Evolving Systems science (AIESS)" with Interconnectedness, Interdependence, Interactions and Intent at its foundation.

AIESS is adopted both as a theoretical framework to deconstruct complex phenomenon and applied to synthesize interactive systems and regenerative ecosystems in different ecosystems, viz., industrial, urban, rural, indigenous, & natural.  A deeper understanding into these, I hope, could provide us the keys to transdisciplinary research to understand, design and solve complex problems and facilitate convergence in policy and practice to enable our units-systems and ecosystems to be regenerative and flourishing, as in the Nature.

With the ecosystemic and transdisciplinary approach, the eight dimensions of my research include Ecology, Relationships, Institutions, Governance, Production (Agriculture, Services and Manufacturing), and Organizations (MNCs, FPOs, and Cooperatives). The outputs of which have not only advanced my research in these domains but have had significant impact on policy, practice, and public awareness. To consistently work on this complex and fundamental nature and science of Nature, we have an AIESS Centre.  More details of our research engagements can be accessed from AIESS Centre's webpage: https://xim.edu.in/aiess/activities.html
